What if Obi Wan killed Vader on the Death Star?

Considering this, what if Obi Wan killed Vader?
If Obi-Wan defeated Vader on the Death Star, this is what would have happened. Vader is cut down by Obi-Wan. A few open fire on Obi-Wan, but wielding the Force and his lightsaber he makes quick work of them. Obi-Wan then heads back into the hangar and regroups with Luke and the others.
Likewise, what would have happened if Obi Wan kills Anakin? He had the chance to kill Anakin in Episode III, but chose not to because he considered Anakin to be his brother. But for the sake of argument, if Obi-Wan did kill Anakin, there wouldn't be a need for Episodes IV, V, or VI. It would have been impossible for Luke or Leia to redeem their father if he was no longer alive.
In this manner, could Obi Wan have beaten Darth Vader?
Not only could Obi-wan defeat Vader, he did. “If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine,” he warned Vader, but Vader couldn't resist his Sith instincts, his pent up anger, his jealousy that Obi-wan not just survived, but thrived from their last encounter.
How does Obi Wan die in Star Wars?
Obi-Wan uses the duel to distract Vader as Luke, Leia, Han and Chewbacca escape to the Falcon. Obi-Wan allows Vader to strike him down and his body mysteriously vanishes the moment he dies.
